AN enterprising student is tickled pink with her new venture.

Flick Rankin, 20, has joined forces with her mum, Denise and sister, Carla, to launch a website selling only pink items.

Pink4fun is attracting visitors from as far afield as the US and Canada.

Flick said the idea came after her friend wanted a pink-themed 18th birthday party and it took her mum months to source all the goods.

Flick's mum then suggested it would be great to set up a website dedicated to pink, so the trio decided to invest several thousand pounds to create Pink4fun.com.

The family, of Prestbury, Cheshire, has secured deals to sell products from retailers such as Marks & Spencer, Dorothy Perkins, Debenhams and Thorntons as well as design companies by registering with affiliate websites. Pink4fun sells everything from garden tools, furniture and baby products to pet care items, stationery and toys.

    Sounds

Flick said: "When we talked about Pink4fun, I suggested creating an `open house' so that people could click on a particular room to access specific pink items.

"We built the house to include a nursery, bedroom, music room kitchen, dining room, games room and so on. Each room has specific sounds as well, from snoring in the bedroom, a baby giggling in the nursery to the dog barking in the garden."

The site also offers businesses an opportunity to log on and register their pink items.

Flick added: "Pink4fun has been formed to create new opportunities that will help companies to advertise their pink products online, and customers who still want to live life in the pink.

"So far it has attracted a lot of attention. I listed it on Facebook, and within a few days it had 200 members.

"We are very confident of its success and looking to roll out Black4fun and Green4fun in the near future."
